Owner and pitmaster of Hoondog’s, Dave Aguiar, got out of the Army in 1997 and wanted a dog. A few months went by and a family in Susanville, CA was selling Beagle puppies.

When he went to go see the puppies all of them ran out of a room with their mom but the dog that would become Hoon sat down in front of him. They seemed to choose each other at that moment.

Dave says, “Hoon became more than just a dog. He was my friend and was always there when I needed him. He could always make me laugh and was always full of energy.”

Hoondog, as he was regularly referred to, passed away in August 2010 and will be forever missed.
